Former Undersecretary for Operations, Office of the Press Secretary, Office of the President, Robert T. Rivera , is back! We do not know yet what surprises he have in mind for the millions of Filipinos he dearly love. Welcome back Usec. Robert!

If there is a show being broadcasted in a governement channel that changed the course of Philippine history, its none other than the show of Usec. Robert T. Rivera's: PILIPINAS NGAYON NA!, which was then being aired at NBN-PTV-4 Every Saturday from 5:30 to 6:30 in the evening. It was in Pilipinas Ngayon Na’s show of Usec. Rivera where President Fidel V. Ramos first appeared to lay-out his proposal to amend the Constitution into a federal/parliamentary system, in effect, to submit to the people directly the issue of whether the term of office of the President be shortened at the height of Hello Garci tape scandal. This shifted public opinion and neutralizes the pressures from the center, the right and the left of our society that nearly erupted into chaos and anarchy.
After nearly a year, an internal dispute happened in one of the oldest award giving body in the film industry, the FAMAS. FAMAS cannot provide a budget for the awarding because of an injunction issued by the court withholding its funds in the meantime that the issue as to who are the rightful elected officers of the body is pending litigation. No T.V. Channel wanted to air its awarding ceremony because of an impending case and due to financial problem. Usec. Rivera, again, came to the rescue to air the "The 54th FAMAS AWARDS NIGHT". The heat brought about by the political turmoil was still fresh even among those in the film industry, but in Usec. Rivera’s show actors, actresses, filmmakers, producers came in as one . . . as Filipino. It might have been the first time that the award giving body held its awarding in a government channel.
Usec. Robert T. Rivera's show also supported environmental concern issues by featuring Miss Earth Beauties in his production numbers, business interest groups by promoting beauty pageants sponsored by the different Chambers of Commerce, such as Miss Mandaluyong.
Competing against giant media outfits, by late 2008, barely three months after the Philippine Juicy Fruits of Ate Bella Dimayuga, President of Bellstar Promotions and a Gawad Kalinga Awardee, was launched at Usec. Robert T. Rivera's show, the group was awarded as the most promising group performer at the 2008 Asia-Pacific Global Excellence Award by the Asia-Pacific Council in an on line voting. The group bested other nominees from ABS-CBN, Channel 7 and other group performers in the Asia-Pacific.
